Pros and cons

What I liked

  • It captured smoke and steam best of the 30-inch models.
  • It can vent outside or recirculate.
  • Its flex zone bridges automatically.

What I didn't like

  • It's expensive.
  • The power cord kit is sold separately.

My notes

JennAir is a Whirlpool premium brand, and this is its 30-inch induction downdraft. The flex zone and automatic bridging handle griddles well, and the fan is quiet on low. It captured skillet smoke almost completely and did the best job with steam of any 30-inch model.

It’s expensive for a 30-inch cooktop and needs a separately sold cord kit. Check the installation guide for the cabinet space the fan needs below.
