I tested it
Portable · Single burner
Duxtop 9600LS
This is the burner I’d buy again. With 20 power levels and 20 temperature levels, there are real in-between steps at the low end.
My verdict
My verdict: Buy it if you want one burner that does everything well.
My test results

Pros and cons
What I liked
- It held the steadiest simmer of the single burners.
- The wide temperature range and the 10-hour timer are genuinely useful.
- The glass panel wipes clean in seconds.
What I didn't like
- My thinnest pan made a high-pitched whine on the highest setting.
- You have to press a mode button before you can set the heat.
My notes
This is the burner I’d buy again. With 20 power levels and 20
temperature levels, there are real in-between steps at the low end. It
held my pot of soup at a gentle simmer for half an hour, which no other
single burner here managed as well. It goes as low as 100°F, so I could
melt chocolate without a double boiler, and the 10-hour timer let me
simmer bone broth overnight while the burner switched itself off on
time.
The angled panel is easy to read from where you stand, and the warm
and boil buttons quickly became my everyday shortcuts. Wirecutter
also names it the best portable induction cooktop.
