Avantco IC3500
Avantco is a restaurant-supply brand, and this is the unit to get if you have a 240-volt outlet. Nearly twice the power of a 120-volt burner cut my big-pot boils almost in half.
My verdict
My verdict: Buy it if you have a 208/240-volt outlet and need to boil big pots fast. Skip it if you only have standard 120-volt outlets.
My test results
6 quarts boiled in 11 minutes and 10 seconds; the simmer was steady.

Pros and cons
What I liked
- At 3,500 watts, it's much faster.

What I didn't like
- It needs a 208/240-volt outlet.
- The Amazon listing is from a third-party seller.
My notes
Avantco is a restaurant-supply brand, and this is the unit to get if you have a 240-volt outlet. Nearly twice the power of a 120-volt burner cut my big-pot boils almost in half. The Amazon listing is sold by a third party with few ratings, so buying from a restaurant-supply store may be safer.
